The copper tube is widely used because of its many advantages. Today, let's talk about the advantages and disadvantages of copper pipe technology!
Process advantages of copper tube
1. The technological advantages of pure copper pipes
Melting and casting: The pure copper tube is melted in a reverberatory furnace or a power frequency cored induction furnace. It adopts copper mold or iron mold for casting. During the smelting process, the source of gas should be reduced as much as possible, and calcined charcoal is used as a flux, and phosphorus can also be used as a deoxidizer. And the casting process should be carried out under the protection of nitrogen or covered with soot, the recommended casting temperature is 1150-1230℃, and the linear shrinkage rate is 2.1%.
Forming performance: Pure copper tube has excellent cold and hot processing performance, and can be processed by various traditional processing techniques, such as drawing, rolling, deep drawing, bending, precision pressing and spinning. And during thermal processing, the heating medium should be controlled to make it slightly oxidizing. In addition, the thermal processing temperature should be 800-950°C.
Welding performance: easy soldering, brazing, gas shielded welding, flash welding, electron beam welding and gas welding, but not suitable for contact point butt welding and submerged arc welding.
2. Process advantages of phosphorous deoxidized copper pipe
Melting and casting: Phosphorus deoxidized copper pipes are smelted in a power frequency cored induction furnace. At high temperatures, pure copper has strong gas absorption, and when smelting, the gas source should be minimized, and calcined charcoal should be used as a flux, and phosphorus can also be used as a deoxidizer. In addition, the casting process is carried out under nitrogen protection or covered with soot, and the casting temperature is 1150-1180°C.
Disadvantages of copper tube
1. For copper pipes, high production costs and high prices are its biggest disadvantages. Compared with other pipe fittings, the cost of copper pipes is much higher, and the connection at the copper pipe interface also requires the level of construction technology. Very high.
2. The heat-treated large forgings of copper pipes are mainly directly forged from steel ingots. Therefore, the influence of smelting, ingot casting, forging and other processes on the internal quality of the castings must be considered during the heat treatment.
3. The purpose of heat treatment after forging of large forgings is to prevent white spots and hydrogen embrittlement, improve the internal structure of forgings, eliminate forging stress, reduce hardness, and improve cutting performance, so that it can obtain good mechanical properties or be good for future heat treatment Organization preparation.
